Terms of service

Last updated: [date]. These terms are between you and [legal entity name] ([company number], [registered address]).

Draft template. This page was drafted by the operator of TickForge as a starting point. It is not legal advice and has not been reviewed by a lawyer or independently verified. Placeholders in square brackets must be completed and the whole document reviewed by qualified counsel before you take payments.

1. The service

TickForge provides a browser-based terminal that generates synthetic tick and candle data, highlights chart patterns and lets you simulate strategy rules against that synthetic data. It does not provide real market data, brokerage, order routing, custody or advice. See the risk disclaimer for the full description of what the data is.

2. Accounts

You must be at least [18] years old and provide accurate registration details. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your credentials secure. Accounts are personal; team access is governed by the plan you purchase. Notify us at [support email] of any unauthorised use.

3. Plans, billing and refunds

Paid plans are billed [monthly/annually] in advance through [payment processor]. Prices are shown in [currency] and [include/exclude] applicable taxes. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Refund policy: [state your policy, including any statutory withdrawal rights for consumers in your markets].

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • present simulated output as real market data or as a live trading track record;
  • resell, redistribute or scrape the generated data or the service at scale;
  • reverse engineer the generation engine or circumvent plan limits;
  • use the service to make or market financial promotions or advice to third parties;
  • upload unlawful content or interfere with the service's operation or security.

5. Intellectual property

We own the service, the generation engine and all output it produces. Subject to these terms and your plan, you get a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the service and its output for your own practice, research or internal training. Third-party marks such as exchange, index and company names belong to their owners and are used for identification only; we are not affiliated with, endorsed by or licensed by them.

6. Your content

Strategies and settings you save remain yours. You grant us the licence needed to store and process them to operate the service. We may use aggregated, de-identified usage statistics to improve the product.

7. Disclaimers and liability

The service is provided "as is" without warranties to the fullest extent permitted by law. We are not liable for trading losses, lost profits, lost data or indirect or consequential loss. Our total aggregate liability is limited to the fees you paid in the [12] months before the claim. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including consumer rights in your jurisdiction.

8. Suspension and termination

You may cancel at any time from your account. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these terms, non-payment, or where continued provision would be unlawful.

9. Changes

We may update these terms; material changes will be notified by email or in-app at least [30] days before they take effect for existing subscribers.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [jurisdiction], and disputes are subject to the courts of [venue], without limiting any mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence. Contact: [support email].
