Backtest calculator — turn a hunch into a rule, then into a number

Write your entry, stop and target as rules, run them across hundreds of synthetic sessions and read the numbers that actually decide whether an edge survives: win rate, average R, expectancy, drawdown and correct position size. No code, no money at risk.

100% synthetic, algorithmically generated market data. Education and practice only — never real money, never real orders.

What you get

No-code rule builder

Moving averages, RSI, breakouts, candlestick and classical pattern triggers, combined with AND/OR logic from simple dropdowns.

Expectancy over win rate

See average R, payoff ratio and expectancy per trade, not just a flattering percentage — the metric that tells you if the rule pays.

Risk and lot sizing

Account size, risk percentage and stop distance become an exact position size, so practice trades carry real-world discipline.

Live rule marking

Once saved, your strategy is highlighted on the chart the moment its conditions are met during a replay.

How it works

  1. 1Open the strategy builder in the terminal.
  2. 2Add entry conditions, then a stop and a target.
  3. 3Run the simulation across your chosen instrument and date range.
  4. 4Read win rate, expectancy, R multiple and drawdown.
  5. 5Tune one variable at a time and re-run — determinism means fair comparisons.

Frequently asked questions

What does the strategy simulation calculator do?

You define entry, stop and target rules using moving averages, RSI, breakouts and pattern triggers, then run them across synthetic sessions. TickForge reports trade count, win rate, average R, expectancy and maximum drawdown.

Is this a real backtest on historical data?

No, and we are deliberate about that. TickForge runs your rules on synthetic, algorithmically generated sessions. It teaches rule discipline, position sizing and expectancy thinking — it is not a historical performance record and cannot predict real results.

How does the position size calculator work?

Enter account size, risk per trade and your stop distance, and the calculator returns the position size and the account-currency amount at risk, so every practice trade is sized like a real one.

Can I save my strategies?

Yes. Custom strategies are saved to your account and can be re-run, edited or marked live on the chart whenever their rules trigger.

Do I need to code?

No. Rules are built from dropdowns — indicator, comparison, value — so you can express a full strategy in a minute without writing any code.
